Whoops! The tranny calls for a GL-4 and the transfer case and rear differential a GL-5. Not sure which you used what one of those is wrong.

Um, you didn't read/search...not the right fluids. If you have trans fluid in your TC. Do not drive the car - fix that.

Not a fan of Royal Purple either. But that is up to you. I recommend the Diaqueen LSD fluid for the TC/diff. 105k on my car (raced/DD), changed every 15k.

Diaqueen for the TC and Rear end. Dont play around with fluids, it will kill your parts. Search my friend.

TC fluid needs to be diaqueen. Change it. Tranny...I like redline mt-90. AMSoil is a good choice too for the tranny.

The royal purple full syn 75w-90 in the trans is perfectly fine. I've done a bunch of track days in high heat w/o any issues using that stuff.

for the TC you don't want that fluid though, totally wrong. Get either some OEM Diaqueen or if you race like me use the Redline HEAVYWEIGHT shock proof (pink stuff) in the TC and rear.

I would run the AMSoil stuff, but more importantly make sure what you're putting in your car is the right stuff.

Sorry if I high jacked your thread but I have the same question as you too marinejensen. I just change my fluid 4000 miles ago to what the Mitsubishi recommended. Now my TC is whinning and it drives me crazy. I heard a lot of good things about AMS Oil stuff but I decide to try out Lucas oil products. I just put in SAE 75W-90 Gear Oil (Synthetic) for the Rear Diff. I will be changing my Transfer Case fluid with Lucas High Performance Heavy Duty SAE 80W-90 Gear Oil. I might as well change my Tranny fluid to the Lucas SAE 75W-90 Gear Oil at the same time too. Any objections? I guess the question is... do I put in the right type of lubrication to it's purpose of use?
