boost problem evo 8

I bought the car used got it a few weeks ago and we put a boost gage on it and im only hiting 11 psi. Nothing is wrong with the gage and the install was don properly. We did 2 boost leak tests found a leak fixed it and still 11 or 10 psi.
Wondering if anyone knows what is going on with it.
Also the turbo feels fine no play in it and spins freely.

check the intercooler piping, vacume lines, make sure boost controller is installed properly and make sure the gauge that you have that the vacume line is not pinched as well

i work at a proformance shop and we have been all over that stuff no leaks but i will look for a pinch, we were also thinking the wastgate. we specialize in the srt 4s and srt 8s so this new ground for us.
iv herd that it should be a 19psi spike is this right

Is the car throwing any error codes?

10psi-ish is wastegate boost pressure. So you're wastegate is likely stuck open for some reason. The most common causes that I've experienced personally are that some line is pinched or loose (which you said you checked) or the wastegate solenoid has a loose connection. It's located under the stock airbox. Check that connection...I've had a reoccuring problem with mine. If the ECU thinks that connection isn't there it'll keep the wastegate open.

The car is running straight wastegate pressure. You need to hook up the stock Boost control solenoid. Just search in the HOW TO forumn for a good MBC install guide and that should have all the pics you need to understand it

Found the problem the wastgate solenoid had a broken niple and the old owner had what looked like the inside of a pen (tub that holds the ink) shoved in its place and the tip of it was melted shut, so i cut the tip off to open it up. Then put the car back together and went for a test drive, now i spike 15 holding 14 or 13 wich was a big improvment(i could hear the turbo wisle) so im going to have to replce the boost solenoid or get a mbc because the hole in that pen tube is alot smaller than the niple wich is holding it back.

thanks for the advice it saved me a headake
I was able to do this in the driveway
