Small town, no e-85 around.

That chart shows boost at 35psi. Unfortunately, most drivers here will probably be running 25-28psi. Good numbers but 35psi good lord. Even the green can get good numbers with a good tune, fuel, and 35 psi. Would love to see what the Tomei can do with a more common boost setting. Not that 35 is not done often but not as often as what the majority of buyers will be at. I can already see kids buying the kit, not making 450whp and being upset. Not too many tuners would recommend 35psi without all the supporting mods and good fuel.

A/R for it is .77 , bigger than I thought and still spools good.
The 79 in the M7960 they say means the turbine wheel trim
60 is the compressor wheel trim.

Also looks like you can buy the parts of this turbo separately + overhaul kit.

But thanks for sharing your findings. I want this turbo too.
These 2 are one in the same. The equation that Mitsu uses versus the rest of the world still is an equation

http://www.stealth316.com/2-turboguide.htm

6 cm2 = 0.41 A/R
7 cm2 = 0.49 A/R
8 cm2 = 0.57 A/R
9 cm2 = 0.65 A/R
10 cm2 = 0.73 A/R
11 cm2 = 0.81 A/R
12 cm2 = 0.89 A/R

I think that this turbo will prove to be a great option for pump and still on race gas and e85 it will continue to perform well, im sure that it will perform better than the green on pump from what we have seen by the test, a ~40whp increase with both turbos almost reaching their peak and still a faster spool by the tomei. I pre-ordered one from billet design almost immidiately after they were tested and I plan to make a pump gas map and a race gas map for the street and track respectively, I'll let everyone know how it feels.

any updates?? i too would like to see this turbo on 93 oct at around 25psi with bolt ons. This looks like a daily driver turbo and not all of us daily drive our evos at 35psi (although i do know that some people do, and it is very awesome and i wish i could too lol)

thanks mike and good luck with the test car.

the new shipment of turbos won't come in until the end of February or even the beginnig of march so we will not see any result till then unless mike or someone else got the first batch and finds a test car because I'm sure diirk won't go to pump gas.

Presumably power would be closer to the Green if boost was the same.

Also, how many days apart are the baseline Green run to the Tomei run?

What type of tuning changes were made? Was more ignition advance run?

I think the testing posted on EvoM is getting pretty questionable these days. Posting a graph of ignition timing deltas between the runs. And AFR deltas would be helpful.

Hopefully you still have that kit next year Mike. I plan on turbo upgrade in 2010 I have a baby coming so I can't do anymore upgrade until next year. But for what I got, I can live with it

You say you can buy the parts seperately.....SO DOES THAT MEAN YOU CAN PURCHASE THE COMPRESSOR HOUSING?????
