Got an exhaust question

I know use the search function, but I wasn't able to find what I'm looking for. I'm looking at buying an exhaust with my tax return Money but I'm having a problem understanding what to do with the exhaust do to turbo, and the o2 after the downpipe. I was looking at just a catback exhaust but not too sure. I hear if you do a downpipe back you need to get your car tuned. Is that true? I'm sure for best performance it is but just for being stock will I be okay? Any exhaust suggestions?

Also looking at getting a new intake! What's the best thing for the evo? Cai or rai? I know the difference but with xperience what's the best?

I don't think you have to tune it. It's just better flow. Definitely get rid of the cat, big difference IMO.

to get the best power gains with any air flowing mod you will need a tune...dont get me wrong you will feel your turbo spool faster with out a tune...but your car will gain more power with a tune...the hks exhaust is a nice one...sounds quiet while crusing and deep while under acceleration

+1 If you want something that is at a good price, looks good, sounds good, makes good power, and has good quality....I would go with the AMS turboback exhaust with the test pipe or the high-flow cat. Good luck with your research!!!

I was just saying it's not a requirement just for the exhaust if you don't want to tune it right away.

you don't have to tune it with just an exhaust...usually people wait for a tune until they get cams put in...

Thanks for some input. I was told tonight by someone that the hks carbon ti. exhaust is pretty sweet for the evo so ill probably be looking into that exhaust.
