Cheap Oil Changes

I just want to know how this is possible since I just realized it, but JiffyLube does oil changes for $20 - but it costs me $20.32 to buy the oil and oil filter from NAPA...along with an hour of my time.

How does this make any sense?

get AMSOIL and you wont have to worry about your engine burning down and then the cheap oil changes become expensive motor changes @ 3200 dollars,,,, either you pay me now or later.

pm me if you have questions

I wouldn't be cheap when it comes to oil its the life blood of your engine. I use Rotella T Synthetic 5W-40 its $20.00 bucks for a gallon but wouldn't use anything else now.

I'm just trying to imagine the discount they get...I mean $20, if they're getting at least half off, it's unbelievable how much auto shops are marking up oil of all things...

heh yeah, but it's better to know that I did it, than just trust someone else, especially after that whole Jiffy Lube scam a while back.

Wow, A little biased are we? You're insinuating that standard motor oil will eventually cause your motor to fail. If every motor eventually failed from not using a very high quality motor oil, then full synthetics (like the Amsoil you sell, which I've used once) would be industry standard.

I don't know anything about AMSOIL, but Wynn's stuff is crap! I worked at a Honda dealership and they were always adding that crap to the services until the service dept pulled it because it doesn't do you any good and can actually cause problems.

oh really so then go and ask all my local retail acounts like coastal mitsu, southern honda.

and not to mention ask all my customers i have had none say they did not feel the diference.

if you know how to use it you will get results, over 100 customers with the same feelings

have you ever pulled an engine appart thas has used sysnthetics and one that has only used pertrolium base oils, not to mention how much junk you will find but the wear and tear is a night and day difference

go ahead and do that and then will talk

thats what i am getting at synthetics are just way superior and there is just no question ther.
a person can put whatever oil of his preference but we reccomend 100% synthetics.

go ahead and do that and then will talk

I agree regular oil sucks synthetic oil almost stays as clean as the day you put it in at the end of 3000 miles, regular oil looks really bad after 100 miles haha. synthetic oil therefore keeps the engine bearings and all the other internal parts a lot cleaner including the turbo. I know he has a mirage if I had a mirage I would run cheap oil too I'm just backing apagan01 up.
