What turbo for street ?

Hey guys as topic states im about to change the turbo over on my 8MR . I have just purchased a T67 kit with 10cm housing but i'm also thinking of other turbo choices as well such as the Garret 3076 and the 35R with .63 housing (maybe larger if someone can convince me) .

The car is only driven on the street so it needs to go f*ckin quick on the roads . I have all supporting mods including:

- All I/C Piping
- BOV
- Front Mount
- Full 3" TBE
- CAI
- 272 Cams
- Walbro 255
- AVCR
- 800cc injectors

The engine is std at the moment but will be rebuilding everything in the near future, just want to run the turbo on the std engine and see how it goes .

My question is what turbo to go with . I would like to know rough figures of spools for each turbo on a 2L ? How long will each turbo rev for etc ? Any piece of information and opinions is very welcome . DON'T HOLD BACK !

Cheers

Chris

The FP red was my favorite street turbo coming from DSM's and now they are the new high power "street turbo" of choice for the Evo.you get great power without sacrificing that much in spool time. The CBRD BBK turbo is along the same lines as the red.

haha you Aussies have some catching up to do then. the 3076r will be a fun turbo on the street makes good power on pump gas(not sure what oct you have) plenty of people wer in the 425whp range on pump and 24ish psi and what you have will support the turbo.

I have the green turbo and love it on the street. There's no lag and I hit full boost around 3500rpms. If the red was available when I got my green, my turbo would be red now.

dont know much about the t67 but the 3076 is a good turbo for the street if your looking go go beyond 400hp. they can be made to spool in the low 4k rpm range and have really great top end.

Lots of good options. 6062, 6262, 35R HTA, etc... T67 is a little laggy. How much power are you trying to make?

I would go HTA 35r. You'll make great power now & crazy power after you build.

ok so the concensus is the 35R with the .63 housing ? How much is the .63 able to achieve power wise and when will it roughly spool up ?? People think that the T67 is more laggy than the 35R ?? Which is the better turbo build wise ??
