Forced Performance WGA! Help Needed
Forced Performance WGA! Help Needed
I bought a Forced WGA with the 18 Psi Spring on it..The Problem Is that now the car goes to 19 Psi and Further some times..I have Tried to Adjust the WGA and nothing..Not Even the EBC can Do Anything...Is there Any manner that I can lower the boost? Yes I saw the Video on Forced performance.
They may have sent you the high boost WGA and that is why you're having the issue. It is not meant for lower boost. Normally the lowest boost you can get with the high boost WGA is 22psi or right around there.
I would recommend calling them.

If you are really interested in determining the base spring pressure in the actuator, you can easily do so with a bicycle pump with a gauge, or a short trip to any place with a air source and a regulated pressure gauge. I do mine with a good bicycle pump/guage which has the same size hose as your boost control to the gate. Just plug it in, pump slowly down with the bicycle pump, and watch the gauge. Have a friend watch the actuator on the wastegate. When it moves, note the pressure on the gauge. Now you know.
With a spring loaded actuator, that's the lowest pressure you can dial in, since it is dependent on the strength of the spring. If you need a lower pressure, you'll need to get a different actuator.

If you only want to run 19# peak, then you don't need the FP HD actuator(especially the one with the 18# spring), or any other upgraded actuator, for that matter. The stock WGA should perform admirably at 19#. Put it back on for krize sake.

Don't get me wrong. I am not really knocking the 16-18 PSI FP HD actuator. It is fine in most applications, such as in setups running above 23 PSI. But, if you will only be running a relatively low, 18-21 PSI, then this WGA may not be the right choice.
Like I said, I am not knocking it. As a matter of fact I am currently using one on my Green setup. But on my setup it was a ***** below 22 PSI to set it up properly. Now, since I am running about 23-24 PSI it is doing a commendable job. It just doesn't like the lower boost settings.
For lower boost levels you should be able to get better resolution from the stock unit, or you can try a Forge WGA, which is more expensive but gives you the best of both worlds.

I bought the Forge, and the 18 psi FP WGA. Both actuators were at about 23 psi, so I took them off and ran the stock WGA. I wasn't comfortable running that high psi at the time. Now I realize 25 psi is okay, so I'm putting one on the next tune I get. Now I just have to find out which one is better.
I have a couple stock VIII actuators sitting on the shelf. I'll send you one, no charge, if you pay the shipping. Or... I also have a Forge Motorsport VIII WGA on the garage shelf, which you can have. If you happen to be interested send me a PM, and I'll find out how much the shipping would be.

Does your VII turbo have the 9.8 cm turbine housing on it? When you ordered the WGA did you specify the FP actuator for the VIII turbo, not the IX turbo, right?
