Had my Evo for three weeks, 1,000 miles, has run great. Had turbo cars before. Strange thing happened today. Warm engine, 1st & 2nd to 6 grand, heavy throttle; shift to third, maintian speed and then lightly lift off gas (traffic ahead); slow down over about 10 secs using engine as break; rev up, downshift to second to accelerate up onramp and after slight acceleration through about 4,000 grand the ENGINE MISSES FOR ABOUT 1-2 seconds. I damn near died. What's up with that? Has this happened to anyone else? No apparent reason, gas tank was at 1/4 full and the gas hadn't shown problems for the first 3/4 tank, so I don't think it was bad gas. Did the gas pressure regulator get a bizaar vacuum signal because of the heavy boost then the high vacuum and not have high enough gas pressure? I'm going to try and replicate it tomorrow, but things like this drive me nuts. If I was accelrating through a left turn in front of oncoming traffic the outcome could have been really different.

 

yeah i had it happen this past weekend. i dropped it into third and hit it. around 5500 rpm it bucked, i shifted to 4th and hit it again with no problems. dunno. maybe a bit of bad petrol? anyone else have this?

 

same thing happened to me last friday. I downshifted into 2nd as i pass through the pay toll. I stepped on it, shifted to 3rd and right around 5100rpm... i felt it bucked. Seems like i slammed into a break wall. I was scare ****less. I then quickly upsifted to 4th and it was fine. Still have not duplicate it yet. Also, it was raining hard, and i did have my recall done. dunno bro. SCARY!!!
