I told you you'd need head stud i take it you cranked up the boost on that turbo, do it the right way, take the head of and replace the HG.

The way I see it, the stock HP engine may have higher cyl pressures during typical expected knock (from factory tune; everything stock) than the same engine pushed beyond 400WHP without knock. If you plan to push the engine to detonation levels requiring non-stretch studs maybe forged internals are needed as well. But thats just my opinion.

theres people pushing over 500whp stock block for thousands of miles and their ok....and if my headgasket was blown my car would be over heating all the time and it would be leaking colant like crazy
plus.....if my HG was leaking it would smoke at idle

don't u have to do it 1 by 1 anyways when u take apart the head?? an import shop here told me they can do it w/o taking apart the head and have no leaks whatsoever. idk if that's true but they said for the evos that did upgrade their head studs w/arp there w/o taking off the head had no leaks.. so idk their way of doing it w/o the head being taken apart. most important part tho is to torque them down correctly if u are installing it w/o taking the head out. upgrading the stock head studs to APR is a very good piece of insurance though.

i did the 1 for 1, but saying that on here will get you flamed. The right thing to do is to remove the head and replace the headgasket and head studs. Im standing by for the flaming, however I haven't had any issues, but its my car, i break it, i buy it..

The 1x1 works if done properly. Lancershop wants you to buy a headgasket from them too, that's why they say don't do it. I read a review recently where AMS installed a customers studs using the 1x1 method: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...sults-ams.html
