I think the most logical and the best way for you to utilize the air induction would be to utilize the stock design using better components.

Stock box plastic is at a point where it could keep the filter itself cool under heavy heat.

but the problem with the stock intake box is that there are so little volume of air that could be used once it goes through the intake filter (for debris but mostly for turbulance control).

So, the best way is to take your IC sprayer, make the box bigger, (cone filters aren't that great for karman vortex MAF sensor due to their irratic air turbulance pre maf sensor) with focus on sucking the air in better while not getting debris, water in the intake induction path (for daily driving).

The key is to close the air flow from outside to the inside engine heat (like the stock setup).

I think if you could route the little U pipe that sucks the air into the air intake box little more wide and little more efficient, even with the stock box, you could see an improvement without sacrificing the proper AFR ratio (without the irradic MAF reading).

One way is to actually close off the left side of the front vent and angle it so it'll scoop more air into the induction path (the U shape stock intake).

But I don't see the cause for much disconcern with the Scoop. Only thing I would improve on their design is to incorporate the stock fined outlet on the open side of the vent.

That could help route the air out better. And yes, it will still work, since the opening is right above the manifold and turbo where most of the engine heat is create. (as long as the vent is open, it'll dispense heat through funnel action.

it still looks sorta ugly though. Looks sorta out of place...

I like it. I was thinking of getting one of these also but right now they are still a little pricey. Great pics.
