Where about can I get one for a reasonable price?

I believe SPOOL rods and Eagle rods are similar if not the same. Except one is made in Australia, the other in the USA. For me, Spool rods are dirt cheap as I dont have to import them over..

Ill look into Supertech, they sound good!

Skip the Cometic? Really? How come?

wrong. Eagle rod are made in Taiwan. which is junk.

^ Hmmm, its making me think twice about my Rod selection now..

Maybe AMS isnt so expensive... As long as shipping isnt so bad.

Does anyone know what the Kit comes with and how much I can pick it up for?

Have you talk to Bel Garage in Sydney? You should be able to get a 4g64 crank easily in AU.

I too had to import most of my parts. But I got lucky with the exchange rate 5 months ago. The nation of left turn racing also has different fuels. Their 93 is not the same as 93 in oz.

You guys in the states are spoilt for choice with parts and free shipping etc, etc. Joys of having biggest ecomony I guess.

To give you a idea I just finished my 2.3l. Final dyno runs tomorrow. hks gt3037s kit with my 2.3 stroker and I'm getting 320kw at the wheels in 98RON.

Good luck with the build mate but seriously talk to the shops in oz that know evos. bel garage, xspeed, Rigoli Racing and don't expect much or any change from 10k AU.

Forgot to add APC. Worlds fastest evo. Drag racing does have its place and I have a lot of respect for anyone that can build a evo with 1000+hp.

+1

if you after a Budget 2.3L Stroker then go for the OEM 4G64 Crank
you will also need Stroker 2.3L Pistons as they are not the same as 2L Pistons

Eagle make good budget Rods and if you not aiming for +600HP I think they will be fine... Try and keep the stock rev limit 7606rpm

Its not difficult to piece togther a Budget 2.3L Stroker kit.

If you want to rev past 8000rpm then rather use your money more wisely and go built 2L with a stronger Rod and with springs & retainers and some headwork...

This is how I see it:
Stoker kit 8000rpm rev limit due to piston speeds but you can gain 500rpm in spoolup.
Built 2L rev to 9000rpm no difference in spoolup but you just gained 500rpm over the stroker.
