Boost Drifting Bad

this morning while passing a truck on rt 34 in ct, i noticed at WOT my boost is all of sudden drifting to 25 (could be drifting higher as I shut it down when I saw that).

Mods

TB exhaust (UR with test pipe)
hks 272
660cc inj
FP Green
buschur FMIC and upper piping
buschur intake
hallam in cockpit boost controller
Defi boost gauge
ported exhaust mani
ss 02 housing
Forge DV

few more mods but nothing that would affect boost

now i just had my clutch swapped out and i aslo changed the vacuum tubing for the DV with a potentially larger inner diameter than the rest of the vacuum lines to the wastegate.

Thanks in advance for the help

Could be colder weather causing the increase. What was your boost set at, and how cold is it out there?

hi i have a pretty similar set up to you. cold weather caused this on my car. were you downshifting or in a higher gear where you were loading the car.

hmm ok i was thinking this had something to do with drifting not boost creep... either way it is possible that it is the vacuum lines, but not due to the larger diameter. i would lean more towards the weather and ported ex mani like said above

i have had these mods for almost 2.5 years.

the colder weather has caused me to lower the boost but i have never seen this dramatic of an increase.

spoke to Jimmy at THESHOP. gonna strap it to the dyno and check it with another boost gauge to rule that out. after that, I was thinking maybe the wastegate??

the car is boost creeping. probly do to the colder weather. colder the weather= denser air. this can be due to the manifold being ported and the o2 housing. wouldnt hurt to check ur vaccum lines either. my buddys old evo boost creeped only when it was cold out. went it was warmer out problem was solved. he also had a megan o2 housing.

i understand the whole colder air = denser air concept....however, what I am saying is I have NEVER ever seen this before. The hallam mbc has been great (4+years)...and now this.

anyways, I am going to bring it theshop and Jimmy is gonna look at it on saturday.

I will post the results

thanks

You have time to look over at your boost gauge to check for creep while you're travelling along at 320 KPH? JK

You have had your MBC for 4 years now you said? Maybe it needs to be taken apart and rebuilt? Either that or its the cold weather and it needs to be adjusted a tad.
