Did I bust my center diff?? Description inside.

03 evo 8 bone stock with 39k on it

I was going around a corner and heard a pop but ti was faint, I then tried to put the power down again and it felt like the clutch was slipping but I am sure it was not the clutch, I have broken output shafts and other parts in dsm's before so it felt just like that a slipping viscous unit.

The odd part is the speedometer goes up with the rpms while in gear and slipping?

Where is the spedo sensor located on these? I am a little confused here

I am almost sure it is a center diff in the t-case but would like to get some other opinions keep in mind the car is bone stock.

clutch is good, I am sure the spedo would not move if it were a clutch.

It is attempting to transfer power to the wheels.

Definitely not the clutch if the speedometer is going up too. The speed sensor is in the transmission, so it would have to be something after the output shaft of the tranny.

Defiantly.

I think you're right in assuming you blew your t-case.

The puzzling thing is that the car is stock, My last evo trapped 119 and I beat the royal **** out of it and never had a problem?

all evo's are not the same. even though we think they are. one part on the car may last longer than some other parts and vise versa. sometimes they go. you just never know when
