LSD front diff. pre load value?

I just got done replacing my front diff (upgraded from open to oem helical lsd ) on an 03 VIII. LSD came from an 04 RS, and I also swapped the VCU just because it had less miles on it. After everything was put back together I noticed a deep clunk sound when I rotate the TC from side to side in my hands. Like something is moving around in side. I installed of the fiber shims there is also a metal shim under the bearing outer race. It almost seems like there is end play on the bearings. Does anyone know if the TC is supposed to be preloaded and if so how much? Also where do you get spacers since Miitsu does not sell parts for the TC.

I was under the impression this was a drop in and go type of mod.

The front diff is a "drop in" mod. Changing the VCU is not. If it's not shimmed for proper preload and the mesh isn't set between the ring and pinion then you'll probably end up buying a new TC sooner than later.

Reinstall the old VCU with the shims and bearings as they were or call TRE or Shep.

Yeah I figured out what had to be done. Emailed John and got some preload values. Machined a new shim for the VCU side. Since the mesh zone was perfect with the old VCU, there should be no reason to adjust the shim on the ring gear side, only the VCU side to remove any slop and create a preload.
