I had one of the first sets of HKS 272 Mivec cams and it does not have HKS stamped on it looks like they used factory blanks to make them...

The exhaust 272 is actually the same one used on the Evo 8's actually its an evo 8 HKS 272 Exhaust Cam...

ok then that makes sense for the mivec intake cam i guess. i was trippin because it looks like pictures of stock ones i saw. the exh is the same as my buddy's evo8. i think they are fine. ill compare the lobes when i finally yank my stock cams out.

yeah the HKS mivec cam is hollow like the stock cam. it looks almost the same to a stock cam (most likely does use the same blank). the exhaust cam as already mentioned is solid and is the same as the evo 8 exhaust cam.

thx guys for all the info... i am now installing the cams myself and yup its an HKS intake cam! whew! But yeah, for anyone else who stumbles on this thread via search w/ the same issue... it looks IDENTICAL to a stock 9 intake mivec cam. Its pretty obvious they use factory cores. The only difference is that the lobes are WAY bigger than stock. I measured them side by side and its clearly bigger. The exh cam is just like any other HKS evo8 cam w/ the stamp n' everything. So everything is perfect! Oh, and im GLAD they use factory cores after reading those horrible threads about the other brands breaking!! yikes...
