need some help!

need some help!

i have done some upgrades on my 2005 evo8 in the past 2 weeks (listed below), and it seems that the car has gotten slower, when i hit boost the car just seems too lag down dosent have the pep it used too when she was stock, i am throw a service eng soon code which i am having checked today, did anyone ealse have any problems like this?


injen IC hard pipe upper
injen intake
AMS Upgraded front mount intercooler upgrade
AMS Smooth flow lower I/C piping
AMS 3" full stainless downpipe
AMS 3" Stainless Steel Testpipe
NGK BPR7ES Spark Plugs
Tanabe Medalion Touring Exhaust (test pipe back)
Hallman Pro Boost Controller Kit
Autometer EVO Steering Column Gauge Pod (1)
Autometer Ultra Lite Boost Gauge
Authority Rear Bumper Carbon Fiber exhaust shield

Well, did you retune or any of those mods?

Are you still on stock boost levels or did you try to crank the boost up a little? Suggest turning it down until you can get tuned.

Also you probably need a mechanical fix (spark plug antifouler trick) for your o2 sensor which is possibly the cause of your CEL. Get the code read at autozone to be for sure.

i staged the boost to 10-20 psi just trying too get the feel for what the car could handle, but she is down too 10 now

You just answer your own question. I have similar upgrades too and I do feel different now but DO need a re-tune for the mods for the engine to run properly.

Stock boost should be somewhere around 20psi.

What exactly do you mean by staging the boost to 10-20 PSI?

i turned the boost contorller down to 10 psi, then i would drive around for 15+ mins then i would turn the contorller up 1 turn untell i got to 20 psi

Like Mr. Evo IX said, you'll need to modify your second O2 sensor bung by extending it with the Anti-fouler kit. You will need to drill the hole so the O2 sensor will fit in. Remove the negative terminal for a few minutes and it should fix your CEL light. Here is the link I'm sure you seen it before but just so you don't have to go and get it
