when i took my car in they said nothing was wrong with it. its got 19000 miles one and with the warmer weather comin it doesnt seem to be sticking as much. so could it be a temp. issue and/or mileage issue with the tranny?

Bump

I totally agree......... any shift grinding is abnormal......

allright guys...... i have taken my 2005 evo 8 with 25,000 miles in to a certain mitsu dealer in aurora il..............

i had two major complaints, 1.. a humming whine noise thats getting worse as time goes on. and 2. the shift grinds above 3k rpm.....

they have blown off my concerns as normal. ( i think there warranty index is too high for the month )

i am displeased with this as i have driven other evos that are fine.

probably going to go to another dealer and get the SHAFT again.

keep this coming, lets get our cars running great again!

When I have troubles shifting from 1-2, it's usually cold out, but not always. I've resolved to go into neutral for a split second when shifting from 1-2 and that usually results in smooth shifting.

Bring this back from the dead. I bought my '05 MR with 80k on it a couple months ago and since then I have had the 2nd gear grind. Usually when it's cold it will do it bad. I've changed all the fluids, used the diaqueen 6 spd fluid for the trans and that never helped.

At times it will go into 2nd nicely if I shift smoothly after car warms up but times it's still there. Very annoying. I don't believe it's the synchros because I bought my car from an older guy who NEVER raced the car or really even knew how to drive the car and was the original owner.

I read and I hate that you really can't use any other fluid in an MR.

I will be adding under hood and shifter base ams bushings soon, will this help the notchy shifting in my MR?
