Found this on ebay.. great for quickly reading/clearing some of those pesky 0128 or 0300 error codes.

I found software to read it for free with Tactrix cable... also evoscan can clear codes too...

where for free?
its convenient for me so I can clear codes on the fly without having a tactrix cable, laptop, and evoscan booted up

Thanks for posting this! I've been looking around for something to just read/clear codes but most of what I found was crap and way too expensive. At least if this turns out to be crap, I didn't pay much for it.

I bought this thing, and it absolutely will not work on my Evo. However, I plugged it into my truck, and it worked no problem. The Evo just shows E, which says it can't communicate with the system.

ya not sure about the Evo X that you have, but I use it with my VIII no problem
