hello everyone. I having a tough time here. my car managed to leak about half a gallon of meth passed the check valve into the upper intercooler pipe. I took the IC off and drained whatever I could. hooked up some air to it to try and dry it out. car will barely run/idle right now. could methanol have gotten into the actual motor? similar to a hydro lock situation? any help or suggestions how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys. cross posting in the advanced/meth section also. thanks again

 

take your spark plugs outs, and crank the motor a few times... it will clear out any residual fluids in your motor. also take the intercooler pipes off and let the car sit for a while so all the meth can evaporate. it will help to drain it by taking the intercooler off and emptying it.

once your sure everything is clear of liquid methanol, do a compression check, and then try starting the motor if compression is ok.

 

I am going to do that now. I will say that the car sat for about 10 days while I was on vacation but not taken apart...and while replacing my check fluid control solenoid on the meth setup I managed to squirt some fresh fluid into the dam intercooler pipe again! I cranked the car with the plugs out and the fuse for the fuel pump removed. the plugs were charcoaled. Iguess from all the times it took to crank the thing over. I did get a CEL for P0113 ( first bank 02 sensor) I dont know if went bad or if the MAF is not playing nice...I am going to take the IC off AGAIN and try to see if anything actually made it in there again.

 

to preface the problem I will mention that I had to limp the car home about 1.5 when this initially happened. no boost obviously.

labonte kit which is great but i had bad luck with the fluid control solenoid and when I removed it it gavity fed i guess
