Direct Meth Injection for Evo X?

Sup guys,

Well ive been debating on running meth for the last couple of months and still cant come to the decision. Firstly, the reason why i want to run meth is because 1) Its more convienient than E85 (only one station near me) and 2) I cant still make more power and wont need to buy new injectors just yet (stock injectors are maxed out). Well, the reason why im still debating is that I read a thread about meth and how not all cylinders get the same amount of meth, which could cause the motor to blow..After driving the car around, i still want more power, so I then thought about direct port injection. Im just trying to be as safe as possible (i understand that its never going to be 100% safe as there are so many factors). Is anyone currently running this set up on the X's and possibly have pictures of their set up? I dont even know what i need, I was just ganna pick up the AEM 1gallon meth kit but what else do i need in order to convert it into a direct injection, if possible? I know I need nozzles and lines? Feel free to recommend me some parts/nozzles!

Also, i would like your guys opinion on running direct injection vs one nozzle in the LICP.

Thanks!!

I have a manifold that been fully ported by grimmspeed, and has individual meth nozzels mounted in each runner. with the distribution block, and everything needed to make it a fully bolt up process.

oh and my opinion, it simply safe when compared to running 1 nozzle in the charge pipe.

Having run meth injection on my VIII, I'll say that what you need to do is go with a bigger turbo, injectors, and a fuel pump. Truth be told, meth is great, but if you're looking for a fire and forget solution that will prove not to be a headache, spend the money once and do it right.

I think what he is saying is if your going to run meth to make more power you should upgarde the major parts i.e. turbo, injectors, and fuel pump which are meant to handle the extra power created from meth.....correct me if im wrong but thats what i got out of it. seems logical too and expensive lol

Regardless of the nozzle setup (I run 2 into the LICP, direct running injection would be awesome) you should look into Aquamist.

yes it's a bit more expensive, but IMHO a lot better...

Actually my statement was more along the lines that adding meth to your car is bringing a lot of new factors into the equation; if I had to do it again, I would not go the meth route, but would instead spend the money on upgrading the turbo. Just my $.02. (Of course this was in the days before we had map switching, so I had to get an electronic boost controller to work into my failsafe system; maybe that alone was why I have a bad taste in my mouth from meth. (Pun intended.))

I will wholeheartedly second tephra: if you do decide to go the meth route, look no further than Aquamist. Their systems are first-rate.

+1 for aquamist

I kept holding myself off from meth on my IX after an experience with a not so great kit in my 2g DSM. I continually thought that doing a second set of injectors or 4 nozzles would be so reliable I would totally do it.... but e85 became abundant enough around me that I went that route instead with both my IX and X.

While I totally agree with a bigger turbo / other parts... the nice thing about meth/e85 is that it is more easily reversable, there is less lag, and you can still upgrade those other parts and make even MORE power! Its pretty easy to spend $1k on meth and get all those benefits with none of the daily consequences (but some risk), or spend $7k on a turbo kit, parts, and install for the same benefits with other negatives and not much less risk.

Just watch your block at peak tq....
