rods and pistons?

building my motor. 06 ix. need to know stock bore size and what you think are the BEST rods and pistons to go with. i think think i want to bore it out a little bit. not sure if i want alum rods or what. so im going to leave this to you guys. need the stock bore size of an 06 and need to know what are the BEST rods and pistons to use. going to be running in excess of 42psi c16, nitrous, and lean and hot as heck, what do you think will handle this? thank you all!

JE Pistons and Oliver Rods or Carillo rods go with CARR hardware

Only run aluminum rods if you plan to rebuild the motor ever so often

Stock bore is 85mm. CP or Ross pistons, Oliver or Carillo rods. What turbo setup are you running?

You are going to get so many "opinions" as to what is best you will be more confused by the end of this thread then when you started it. G/L on whatever you end up going with but when you stated "going to be running in excess of 42psi c16, nitrous, and lean and hot as heck" you will find that whatever you end up using will be put to the test.

The conditions you are describing will likely require a custom piston to work best. This will allow the piston manufacturer to make the necessary adjustments (increased deck thickness, thicker top ring land, compression ratio change, etc.) to perform best for your engine. Many off-the-shelf pistons are good, but are designed to be good for many applications, including street use. I recommend going with JE Pistons, you can get them through Buschur or AMS. I also recommend measuring your bores to make sure they are straight/round and honing them out slightly if needed. You can order custom pistons to whatever size you need too.

Rods: Carrillo, Crower and Oliver are good rods. If you can afford it, go Carrillo.

Manley I-Beam Turbo Tuff series and either Manley, JE, CP, or Ross. I believe Sean C gave you some sound advice and if your building mine as well build it to suit your needs and not just a avg. piston of the shelf.

deffinatly going with the carillo or turbo tough rods. custom pistons? when i hear that i just see $$$ signs going across the screen haha. too late to take short cuts tho. so if stock is 85 mm that means i want like an 86mm set up. head gasket and pistons.? maybe have the head machined to match? would would that come out to be? 85mm bored to 86 = 0.020 over?
