tell me what clutch to get.

hey guys once i get my fp red and supporting mods in i will have to do a clutch install and there are so many to chose from. i cant afford a twin disc so we can cancel that out but this car is my daily driver and i may take it to the track once in a great while. whats a good clutch for me? i will most likely have about 400 whp and 385wtq.

thanks!!!

Hey man...pretty much any clutchmasters clutch would work well. There is the FX100, 200, and 300. The 300 would be my reccommendation. Don't know how much you were looking to spend, but it's about $700. Also, a tad cheaper would be the spec stage 2+. An awesome all around streetable clutch with great holding power...that runs about $650. Both very well names in clutches, just really your preference.

Im still running the stocker with my Red. May as well run it until it burns up. Although we were able to make it slip a little on the dyno when the boost was up past 30psi.

I'd defenetly go with SearchButtonPerformance racing clutch. You can never go wrong with that.

im definetly going to keep the stocker for as long as possible and i will not be running 30psi haha. just 25 or 26. my clutch is mint right now and i never launch it or beat on it so i think it'll be ok for a little while.

i want a clutch that will feel basically like the stocker but will be able to hold the torque

If you want one to feel like stock but hold more torque, then what is it you are willing to give up? I don't care what the advertising hype says, there is no free lunch. Our HDSS street clutch will have a slightly stiffer pedal but smooth engagement. A stock pressure plate with a puck disc will hold decent torque and feel like stock at the pedal but engage harshly (clutch chatter). Another brand may have a soft pedal and decent torque capacity, but clutch life suffers due to the change in leverage on the p/pl. Some brands use cheap disc spring center sections that will be more prone to failure. In that case, it doesn't matter what it feels like if it leaves you on the side of the road. I will spare you the pitch for our product but I think you are a good candidate for one.

I have the HD-G6 sprung hub 6 puck. It holds great and it has worked well as for my DD (55 miles round trip to work). Ive had it in for about 15000 miles.
