Exhaust weight

Hello all-

I just ordered my HKS 30th Hi-Power and was thinking about the weight of this exhaust vs. others. Anyone have any info? Thanks

I like to know too since I will be installing mine on next Tuesday. If no info, I will try to weight it and compare with the stock one.

Sounds good let me know if possible. Did you get the 30th exhaust or just the Hi-Power?

I know I think the Buschur exhaust is the lightest set up available. I just would not buy it myself.

It's most likely comparable to my Thermal cat-back... I believe mine is 25 # if I remember correctly. Don't be so concerned with weight though.... light exhausts are overrated... especially since the difference in weight could be achieved via a week of dieting anyway. Not that the Buschur system isn't nice.... because it definitely is.... but there are more "durable" systems out there... but then the tradeoff is a few more lbs to carry under the car. Judging from my HKS dp... I'm sure that Hi-power is going to be awesome quality!

Lastly, I'm looking at Turbo mag right now.... the one with the exhaust shootout, and the Supra Carbon TI exhaust weighs 26 #. So figure in the ballpark of that.

Apparently its all in the name. If someone asks "What kind of exhaust is that". You reply "Buschur". They reply "Bush what?" Now flip the script if it was HKS their last reply would be "HKS is da bomb" or "My Buddy . . . " Make your car happy and your wallet. Buy functional stuff, not brands. BTW, did I mention that Buschur and others are good ol' fashion USA companies. Who cares about a lighter exhaust, less bends, less money and a stock appearance when they can have HKS or APEXi or what ever. L8R

I am weighing everything that I change on my car. Exhaust is as follows:

Stock DownPipe = 10.6lbs
Stock Cat Back = 36.6lbs
Stock Cat = 12.4lbs
Stock Braces= 2.6lbs (removed because they don't fit over the new downpipe)

RMR Downpipe = 8.9lbs
RMR Cat Back = 28.3lbs
RMR Replacement Brace = 5.0lbs

Total weight Difference = -7.6 lbs

Ti exhausts weight much less. But if you want the good OLD USA. Remember more weight = less speed. Can't beat less than 10 lbs for a catback.

True. It's also the most expensive one.

Wish I can afford one. Until then, I will run my car with HKS 30th Anni catback.

Hmmm. Don't concern yourself with the weight of your exhaust?!
That's a foolish thing to think. More durable because it weighs more?! ha ha, that is even worse.

We offer the lightest complete exhaust for the EVO that you are going to find. The stock exhaust system on the car weighs in at a hefty 60 pounds.

Here is how it breaks down:
Stock downpipe, 10.5#'s
Stock cat, 13 pounds
Stock cat back, 36.5#'s

Our system weighs in like this:
Downpipe, 5.5#'s
Offroad pipe, 2.6#'s
Catback, 16.5#'s.
Total weight of our 3" system is only 24.6 pounds.

This is a 35.4 pound savings!!

Taking weight off the car is a win-win situation. The mileage would technically go up, the car would be faster and with the lighter weight of any car would come less breakage.

Just because a system is "heavier" doesn't make it more durable. These HKS systems with their hokey paint on them will not last, believe me, I have been watching them rust off of cars for 14 years now.

We have taken great care in building our systems for the EVO. This system is COMPLETELY, 100% built from 304 stainless steel. EVERY hanger, EVERY flange and EVERY inch of tubing.

The light weight came from investing a bunch of money in tooling so we could mandrel bend a light wall stainless tube without kinking it. We use a 3/8" thick SS flange on the downpipe, all the hangers we use are 1/8" thick SS strap and one is 3/8" SS rod in the rear. The muffler is built by hand to work with the system and is also 100% SS. Did I mention the system is 100% 304 STAINLESS STEEL?!

The really killer part of all this is you get the SUPER light weight, all 304 SS construction, highest flowing system you'll find and all for only $750 for the entire system!

There isn't anything that is going to outlast OUR system, I don't care who makes the claim or product. I have my name and reputation on these, they are kick ***.
