Relocation of the Battery

I searched briefly to find what I was looking for and I got some answers and still have some questions. I will keep searching but I wanted to post this to try and get some answers as well.

I'm going to be moving my battery to the trunk soon to fit short route IC piping and I dont want a mini battery because my car is not my DD. Also, I may get into dragging or autocrossing my car soon so I want to be sure I meet proper regulations.I was told to that if I want a batt in trunk and want to track the car I need to have a metal enclosed case for the battery with an external cutoff switch.

What are some of the best non VTA battery's that are used?( I believe optima came up a few times in my search) Where have you guys set up cutoff switches on your cars? Any specific battery relocation kits you've used?

Any installation threads or links to rules and regs for racing would be awesome as well. Thanks in advance.

Nick

I am using an Optima, installed it in the spare wheel space.. on its side so it is just about flush with the normal trunk floor..

it is a bit larger capacity than i'd like but I could not source a smaller optima battery locally..

^ I like that setup. I plan on adding a cut off switch to mine for when I go to the track. THe cutoff has to be easily accessible and not necessarily out in the open.My setup:
