Clutch Break-In on Exedey Twin Plate

Had the Exedey twin plate installed last week and I was wondering from the guys who own this clutch how long you spent breaking it in. I have 350 miles of good stop and go traffic on it so far and have been very easy on it. I just went out and did a little heel-and-toe practice around the neighborhood and smelt a little clutch when I got home. This isn't a bad sign is it? I am guessing that I am smelling it a little because that is the first time I have even slightly put the clutch to work since I had it installed. What are you other Exedey owners doing for break in?

Personally I'd give it at least 750 miles before even attempting any performance clutch maneuvers. Remember you are breaking in 2 plates also!

True. I'm also going to take out the restrictor sometime this week and hope that makes a difference. I don't mind waiting 750 miles, but I just wanna make sure that I didn't do any kind of hardcore damage to it last night. I didn't do any hard launches or anything like that.

1 launch isn't going to damage much if anything, or give you any problems. I wouldn't sweat it.

Having the clutch restrictor in may actually improve the break in I'd think, allowing the plate(s) (in this case) to make smoother, softer, longer contact with each other. I'm not an expert to say the least, but that would be my guess.

Yea that is another good point. I was going to leave the restrictor in permenantly because I thought it would help keep wear off the tranny with the new clutch assembly but if the thing is still slipping/smelling after break-in is done, then the restrictor must come out.
