Upgrade clutch, or wait till stock dies?

Hey guys, I'm looking for some opinions regarding my clutch. I have 23,000 miles on my Evo and I'm thinking about upgrading to an Exedy Twin Disk Heavy Duty. Considering the price (about $2000 installed), should I wait for my stock clutch to die first? The stock clutch does not slip if I do a highway pull, but during 2 step launches it slips a lot, especially if I let the clutch out too slow (I'm still a noob at launching). I would like to take it to a strip, but I'm afraid the stock clutch won't hold up. Any opinions?

if you have the money do it now........but before you do it i would practice launching and what not on the stock clutch before you take it out.

Depends if its your only car really. If its already slipping - replace it.

Practice launching hard on it for a bit until it's really slipping. Then get it replaced. But have some "free" fun with it before you swap it out!

Depends on where it "dies" on you.A Tow bill can be costly and add to the price of the clutch job!

Just replace it, no sense in screwing in up if its your DD. I just did two clutches in the last two weeks, really not that hard.

Thanks for the advice. I'll probably practice some launches then take it to Buschur to get the Exedy before it dies. And yes, it's a dd although I do have a beater, but I live I'm the middle of nowhere and don't want to have it towed very far

I would probably go ahead and replace it. You don't wanna get stuck somewhere with a completley wasted clutch.
