i was wondering what turbos you evo guys have been using in place of the stock unit and what kind of gains you have gotten.
and secondly i was wondering if anyone has tried a GT28R?

There aren't many turbo's out there for the Evo yet, at least not state side. The stock turbo has a twin scroll exhaust manifold and the turbo spins the opposite direction than most turbos, so a bolt on turbo is very rare. This means you have to swap manifolds and all kinds of work to change turbos, hence, not many people have done it. The GT28R would probably rock, but, without a manifold to bolt it to, it's pretty useless...

This is true there are practically no drop in turbos for our cars. If you want to upgrade you have to buy a kit like the HKS or Greddy kits.
