evo 9 ecu compatibility? hAlp!

I've had the dilemma of having a locked, bricked, useless ecu in my 06 GSR. No codebreaker will get to it, the battery charger didnt help, new tactrix cable did nothing.... I think someone changed the init code to something stupid and nothing will help me...

I'm wondering, seeing as I would really like my car tuned, are all e9 ecu's compatable? Say I purchased an MR one, can it be re-mapped the same as my GSR. I was just wondering if there happened to be a difference.

I know I'll have to get the ecu synch'ed to my immobilizer code in my key to make it all correct.

Any assistance would be awesome!

Yes, any working ECU from an '06 will work. Changing or disabling the Immobilizer will take all but 2 minutes. Good luck.

The same ECU/ECM is used in the MR, RS, and GSR.

Call up Tactrix and ask if they can unbrick your ECU. If they are willing to try, I'm sure it will be much cheaper than buying another ECU.

I purchased another evo 9 ecu and have it in my hands... now I have some Q's

seeing as my current ecu is in-accessable via the tactrix cable, how do I go about dealing with the immobilizer issues with putting the newly purchased ecu into my car so it can finally be tuned...

Do I need to go to the stealership and get bent over?

Are you saying that you don't know what the old immobilizer code is so you can't write it to the new ecu? No backups of the original ecu data?

If you search on this site there's a thread on how to program the ecu to ignore/disable the immobilizer. This would allow you to use the new ecu in the car, you would just give up the immobilizer security feature unless you can figure out the matching code for your current key(s).

Here it is: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...de-issues.html

well the thing is, I purchased the car from a dealership... then found out of my issue when I went to get it tuned. SO I do not think the immob info is accessable, does mitsu keep logs of these, etc?
