OEM spark plugs vs others???

Well it's been 20k since I last changed the oem plugs for a new set of oem plugs, I've been stock. I just got tuned with a TBE, LICP, UICP, intake, MBC, and 255 fp running 23 psi. Should I just go with another set of OEM plugs or get 1 step colder plugs? What are the right plugs for my mods/boost level? also it might be a silly question but would changing the plugs effect the tune in any way?

Thanks

It shouldn't change the tune, but unless you were experiencing some misfires at high RPMs, I would leave them alone - errr as in replace them with stockers. It wouldn't hurt to try one step colder to see if it smoothes things out on a dyno pull, but something subtle like that won't be felt from the driver seat.

I run NGK BPR8ES 's. they work the best as far as i am concerned. they come pre-gapped and are only about 2 bucks each. i usually buy 8 or 12 when i buy em then change em out every 4-6k miles. They are cheap and it takes 2 seconds to change em. They are the best ones iv used and im gonna stick with em

edit... u have a 9, i have an 8. i believe you are supposed to use different plugs than me

I have always ran factory plugs and I have never had any spark issues even up to 40psi. That's my .02

You always want to run as hot a plug as possible with the largest gap possible for the best burn characteristics. Read this.

will you elaborate more about it? any ignition booster, gap... I love to know since with my oem on race gas boosting over 27 psi it started breaking up.

You need to make the gap smaller if you are breaking up or upgrade the ignition to provide hotter spark. I have had to gap down to around 20 to prevent misfire at higher boost on stockish plugs. I have run stock and denso one range colder and both require smaller gaps to prevent breakup above 4k rpm.

good Luck man

fellow SoCal represent

PS I agree the bigger gap is better but that will require ignition upgrade on MY car.

YMMV
