Tune needed?

Currently I have an Apexi TBE, and am looking into getting an ETS LICP. But I wanted to see if the licp would require a tune?

I have done my research and I believe the answer is yes, but wanted to see if that one part was ok to bolt on without one and do a tune at a later time when all intercooler pipes are changed.

No, you only need tunes when installing parts that drastically change fuel or airflow. Such as fuel injectors, cams, or turbo.

OK, I know stock tune is pretty rich, but the ETS licp would not effect the car to which it would not require a tune?

You will not need a tune. A tune is a great, and often forgotten, mod though. The stock tune leaves a lot to be desired, especially mid-range.

You dont need a tune for that from my understanding mods are really useless w/o a tune get most people get most of there mods on or ready to be installed then get a tune all at once a tune is really needed when u upgrade ur turbo, cams, injectors, intake, fuel pump, ect stuff that will change ur air/fuel ratio... If I am incorrect someone please chime in

if you currently have a reflash tune, then adding a lower fmic is not going to have a significant effect on the VE to require a retune. However, if you don't have a tune on the car, certainly in order to realize optimal performance a tune is suggested.

I agree, the best route is to plan your upgrade path and develp a goal on mind and try to do the modification steps in major groups so that you can minimize the number of times the car needs to be tuned and dyno time. Following - for example - a staged upgrade path - e.g. Stage 2 or Stage 4, etc is always a good way to start out as many of the stages build upon each other.

Definitely not. They make far less difference than a LICP does.

I'm in the same boat. I want to get a LICP also. i already have a TBE, cone filter and a tune cause I was planning on stopping there, I guess u can't just stop with one Mod. Now my question is: will I make anymore power with the licp without the tune?
Sorry OP if I'm hijacking ur thread.
