Messed UP DRIVABILITY...
hey guys...i took in my car to get the clutch installed and the valve cover painted...come out with the most annoying problem...here goes..
everytime i shift gears, or come to a stop in neutral, the car goes super dooper rich (like 9s and 10s AFR), idle drops and turns off unless i rev it out of it. when i do that...the car goes back to normal behavior
i did a boost leak test and i found a huge boost leak in one of the injectors seal on the intake manifold, FIXED and now the cars system holds 50/60psi no problems and ZERO boost leaks!!
however i took the car out for a drive and it is still behaving the same
any ideas? is it something related to tuning or is it something mechanical???
any help is appreciated.

It's more than likely something quite simple, since you said that they (whoever did the job) just changed your clutch and painted your valve cover. Go over all the steps necessary to remove the gearbox and the valve cover and look for anything that was disconnected. It could be a connector or a vacuum line (yeah, I know you said you did a boost leak; are you also referring to a vacuum leak check?) that was invariably left disconnected. Just my 2 fils. GL.

Check your MAF is reconnected properly, when i did a boost leak test i forgot to plug mine bck in, it ran like crap so I immediately popped the bonnet and double checked.
I was gonna say the same thing, since they had to remove the intake/MAF just to access the gearbox and stuff. It's more than likely the MAF connection.

I still think that if you had no issues with this before you took it to the shop that did the work, there's something they disconnected or broke

i am running a stock metal bov recirculated... cleaned the maf with CRC contact cleaner.
just got the check engine light and pulled those codes:
1)Injector circuit
2)Vehicle Speed sensor

Electrical contact cleaner or brake cleaner. Take the MAF out, spray the contact or brake cleaner through the honeycomb, as well as on the platinum filament (spray from a distance of 6 inches, BUT don't touch the filament or try to dry it off. Let it air dry and re-install. Also, check that your MAP sensor is plugged in. Hopefully, this resolves your issues.

Vehicle Speed Sensor is located on the right side of the valve cover in between the valve cover and the UICP. It's in close proximity of the Cam Angle Sensor just right behind it. I bet those jak-o-napes broke the VSS while doing your valve cover or they disconnected it and didn't re-install it. You popped the code for the VSS, so I am willing to bet that is the source of grief. If they broke it, make them replace it, but yeah... I am way tooooo familiar with how they do stuff here in the GCC... blame it on the customer

aaah well,, the workshop owner is my good friend and they usually look after me...could be an error of some sort what they have done or missed..that is if it is there problem.
I just sent you the pdf file. I am sure it is the VSS. I'm sure the owner will cooperate with you in this matter. Sorry if I am bitter about some garages... just my experience in dealing with them. I hear the shops in dxb are a lot more experienced than around here.
