im going to be looking into a 2.3 l soon. ive heard that extra torque is VERY nice for driving your car on a daily basis. less lag and more like a normal daily driver. and it picks up faster (in case you have a bigger turbo with more lag)

2.3L is nice if you gear it right with the shorter rev limit you need longer gear's to fully enjoy it

Well you can rev a 2.3 to 7800-8000rpm. If you chose the right turbo (say fpblack), you will have great power from 4000 to 8000rpm. If you have access to e85, it will get you 550-600whp along with 500-550lb of torque, couple that with 4000rpm of power band, and you'll have a VERY enjoyable car even on the stock gear ratio.

Very true but not in a sense of it being unbearable. Every driver has a difference tolerance level.

I'm having a 2.3L engine build by JMS @ San Antonio and you should see these test results when the summer rolls around.

Pure dont you need the motor first or rather a fp red at that LOL. messing with ya. Cant wait till i get a fluidampr then my 2.3 will be done and ready for shipping yes. If your dragging consistantly then 2.0 2.1 DD for sure. I say 2.3 etc if your auto x road course street use DD etc. Either way you can go wrong because your car will be built at least.

Don't listen to Rock... He is setting you up for failure! You want to do a LR2.4 not a 2.3

Tell you soon... I have my 2.3L with FP Red on E85 being tuned tomorrow. Should be fun... just finished breaking in the new motor.

Went with the Blox front motor mount and have an Ingalls Engineering Stiffy Engine Torque Damper. The 2.3L has noticeably more vibration. However, it is not unbearable and quite tolerable. Balance shaft delete...

whats the cost difference between 2.3 and 2.4 LR setups? it seems anyone considering 2.3 would love a 2.4 since it offers everything wanted out of a 2.3 without the negatives (except price i guess?).

Like Sharkbite said. The LR 2.4 will rev higher than a 2.3 any day. It has a 156mm rod instead of a 150mm rod like the std 2.3 or 2.4. Not to mention it will make more power and is usually cheaper to build!
