If i was to got for larger displacment i would go with a 4G64 not a 2.3.....just my opinion. The 4G64 is a better balanced motor then a stroked 4G63..so you get the torque and the rev's..with that being said i'm building a 2.0L.

I'm currently building a 2.3L 4G63 with Jackson Automotive. for my 05 track car

I road race with NASA a couple of times a year, and do Auto-X. I am running the FP Red on a JAM Stage 1 head w/ HKS 264 cams for the better response. I'm planning on revving to 7,800 consistently with this setup.

I was going for a built 2.0L again, thats what I have now but now that its time for a rebuild I'm going with the 2.3L to really help with corner exit and throttle control. I was having serious problems directly after shifts.. This should fix my problem

All of this, (block prep/machine work/balancing/blueprinting/parts/labor/head work and the shipping) is $3,780. Its really not a bad deal if your looking for more torque

Hope this helped some.. GL

I'll update when she's running again in a few weeks!

whatever you do if you delete balance shafts do NOT get solid mounts unless you want a big vibrator for your gf/wife.

I love my JAM Stage II 2.3...they use the stock B.S. but machine it and there is no vibration at all.

there is next to no vibration on any 2.3 with the stock mounts.. put on solid mounts and your 2.3 will vibrate the car like hell.

Anyone seen any results from a 4g64 or a 2.3L stroked 4g63 on a FP Red on E85? I personally think that would be one nasty setup with a fast spool and gobs of torque.

would love to get the rr thats prolly the only 2.3 i would get but the price is steep

probalby the same route i am gonna go.. i luv to rev out high and thats the turbo i was lookin at for a fully built 2.0

I've contemplated doing this. Built 4g64 for ultra fast spool and massive low torque.

I'm still on the fence about it, keep the comments coming.
i have always been on the fence between a 2.3 and 2.0 but lik i said above i luv revin out high so been leaning to a 2.0 cause the 2.3rr is really the only safe option i see revving out that high... built 2.0 is where its at i think for drag and street applications.. but yes keep the comments comin!

so the consensus is...if you goto the drag stip 2-3 times a year go with a 2.3,but if you want to make you car into a drag evo to go with a 2.0?

The only mount that creates the vibration is the rear transmission / engine roll stop mount. do not change that from stock.

the front trans mount is fine, i have that aftermarket on mine and no vibrations.. I'm not sure about the 2 front side mounts.
