I just did mine yesterday. I dont think it holds anymore up top but it does help the spike a little. i dont think it was worth it, because now my car wants to die when coming off the gas because i think its putting back pressure on the turbo. I wish i would have just left mine alone, but give it shot and see how it works out for you.

I agree with turbo junkie... I crushed mine (FP Red @ 30+psi) It doesn't seem to hold any better, yet my car idles like crap now.

I'll be switching to a TiAL 50mm

I over crushed mine a week ago. I'm trying to figure out how I can pull it out a little. I'll probably have to push/squeeze the pistion inside so that it pushed the top hat out...

Well anyways I was'nt paying attention until I realized that its over crushing. The nipple is touching the bottom and the opposit side of the nipple is angled slightly more.

The car runs fine and is pretty much the same. Only side effect is during vacuum operations I can hear some flutter sounds. But when in boost its all normal blow off sound like it used to be.

So just be carefull when crushing it and I suggest to crust it just a tad. Maybe a couple millimeters. Also realize that when you are crushing it your actually pushing down the whole top hat portion. I originally thought that the top wall part squeezes in only, but its the whole upper portion crushing down into the base. Hope that makes sense, I dont want you to make the same mistake I did.

Honestly I say it's not worth spending money on a recirculating bov. Just crush it carefully and just a tad bit. I'd say crush it to the half way point before the vacuum hose nipple bottoming down.

This is how David Buschur does it.
