I havent see 1 unit fail yet pushing near 50psi of boost thru a t3 6262.. I had a PTE 6765 DBB on my car for over a year and that same kit is on a customers car for almost a year without an issue.. Please spread the misinformation on another forum..

And I dont know **** about the PTE 6262 other than it is a Frickin' MONSTER of a turbo and that it is to small for a 2.0l to be effective.
HTA 3586 full spool by 3600 rpm on a 2.0L? Not in a million years unless full spool means 2 psi.

No one has asked what he is using the car for... is it street only, road course, auto x, drag? This will ultimately make your decision for you. IMO I think you should put the red on and see how you like it, then if you want more, go bigger. That 3586 is a swweeetttt turbo though, if you got the change, go for it.

Buschur is running 8's with the HTA 3586. Both are strong and I'm not worried about the cost difference. Like I said in your post "go with the HTA 3586 because others in Colorado are running the 6262"

Right there with you. I only suggest the 6262 due to cost but its not that much of a difference in price. Both Buschur and Mike have backed up the HP figures and 1/4 mile times with each turbo. Seams like you can't go wrong with either turbo. The 3586 is water cooled and it seams the 6262 is not but correct me if I'm wrong. I tried to find issues with Precision BB turbo's and couldn't find any.

If you're planning on building the engine, then the larger turbos would be a better choice IMO. My car is shifted close to 9k to get a 10.5 time at Bandimere.

Most of these horror stories for the PTE turbos were years ago when they used 270 thrust bearings instead of the 360. But, the BB turbos still had problems a few years back as well.
