intake pipe options for FP 84mm compressor covers

Does anyone that uses FP 84mm comp cover Evo 8-9 turbos like the 71HTA, Red, etc use any other intake pipes besides the FP silicone pipe? I have the FP one, but its a really tight fit.

Thanks

It's supposed to be a tight fit. I have a 3.25-3" reducer for my 3" metal intake pipe. It's a tight fit on the compressor housing.

does it hit that wire loom behind the compressor cover? I had to push that thing hard to fit their silicone pipe past the wire loom and it still doesnt slide all the way on the comp cover, maybe their pipe is just thicker?

I do the same thing without a problem.

No, I removed the "mount" for the wire loom that's right under the turbo and routed it out of the way.

I used a 3.5 inch reducer now that I think about it.

Edit... Never mind. It must be 3.25 because I squeezed it on and 84 mm is around 3.3 inches.

Ahh ok, is it just one bolt holding that mount? Which metal pipe do you use?

Yea, it's on on bolt. Its a 10mm head that is right under the turbo, the head points to the passenger side of the car.

The pipe I use is an ETS intake, but I cut the recirc port off and sealed it up since I'm running a vta bov, and I install it "backwards"..
