I recently got this weird clanking noise coming from the engine bay at idle. can anyone tell me what it is or a guess? Im like freaking out and i know our cars make all kind of crazy weird noises but this is bothering me. thanks for your help!

any work done to the motor recently?

Yes, I am referring to the slower noise that sounds like a constant churn.

no work done to the motor at all. stock cams and all


i believe its just from 1 area by the accessory belts

how many miles on the motor sounds like lifters or balance shafts

 

there is 32,000 miles on the motor. The sound went away recently but i am still concerned. very weird.

my pcv valve on the valve cover does that. but i have cams and the low vac makes it do that.... maybe you need to replace that little valve?

 

that could seriously be a possibility considering i have a dump hose from the pcv valve routed to the ground. (so i dont get grime in the intake manifold)

 

yea, its just a check valve with a little ball and spring, and since i have low vacuum it rattles alot. i kinda want to know if it can be removed and just use the one on the intake pipe, cause its super annoying on my car!
