weird noise..need help in solving it please!

so my car is having this noise issue whenever it goes into boost.

because of this noise, the car starts knocking and will loose power. i cant figure out whats causing the noise or where in the engine bay its coming from. this issue has been persistent since a timing belt broke a few months ago and i got a new one installed.

before the timing belt broke, the car was perfect with no problems at all, after installing this noise started.

the car idles fine, drives fine but as soon as i go into boost like 12 psi and above this noise starts and knocking occurs.

please listen to this noise at the 3 second mark and give me your best guess as to what it could be or whats causing this.

thanks,

Sounds like the car maybe have an external wastegate or a internal wastegate with open dump tube.

What does your o2 housing look like

It dumps out exhaust to control how much psi you make. How many pounds are you seeing? If it only goes to 12 and then dumps you might have a boost controller plumbing issue. Check your lines from boost solenoid or controller to boost source and to wastegate actuator.

right now it is 26 pounds, im using grimspeed boost controller.

i know it dumps out exhaust to control and maintain the boost but this noise is diffrent.
this noise causes knocking and boost to drop.

see this video, this is how its supposed to be

in the above video, the car goes to 1.8 bar which is 26 psi and no noise.

this video is with the noise on same day 10 mins apart..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86Si...ature=youtu.be

as you will see, there is noise in the video and it looses boost when the noise comes on, even though im at wide open throttle.

i cant understand whats causing this to happen? the noise is there sometimes, and other times it isnt.

I say it's pulling ntimimg two.
Is it throughing codes? If so my be the o2, crank, or cam sensors.

If not I bet the belt got put on wrong and it's a tooth or so off.

Did u replace plugs when the belt got done? If so it's worth the gap check and check to see if they are right, I once got the wrong plugs and the boost would blow out the spark causing a bad Sutter.

Hope this helps

no codes are being thrown, i will check the timing again, but whats that gotta do with the noise? timing being pulled wont make any noise.

i have new spark plugs, will need to gap them. but again this noise is diffrent and not a missfire or stutter. the car is not missfiring its just this noise that is messing everything up...

i guess you havent seen the other video i posted, look at that video and listen for a noise when it goes into boost.

can anybody identify what this thing is in the picture? and is the nozzle at top suppose to be open or connected somewhere?

this thing sits under the intake manifold.

Looks charcoal canister to me, and there should be hose going to intake manifold(has by-pass valve), one coming from fuel tank and one going open somewhere.

just found the problem, its the turbo!

took the MAF sensor off and spun it with my fingers, its making a grinding noise plus there is shaft play.
