Help problem solving this noise
Hey guys,
So long story short, I went back to stock (cat back on along with stock BCS and lines, then flashed to an AEM stage 1 map) for emissions...
Right now I'm only running the AEM intake,
After getting everything back on and taking it around the neighborhood for a test drive I noticed this noise,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cuxg2e0Tlo
There are a few rattling noises in the video that would be my heat-shield, the noise that is new is the sound like rushing wind...
The second half of the video is just normal accel, keeping it out of boost...
Any thoughts as to what the noise might be? I'm going to be tackling it this weekend and wanted some help with routes to take...
I can't put my test-pipe back on for a bit due to some weird circumstances, so I'm afraid to run my 3-Port map since it isn't designed for a catted setup...
I read that some people have had problems with their snorkel getting stuck up on heavy runs, but mines 100% secured I wish it was that easy...
First step will be putting my GrimmSpeed back on and seeing if it goes away and at-least that would let me know the problem would be the stock BCS or the lines...
But I can't run that setup for long with any sort of peace of mind...
Any other ideas/help on this one?
Cheers,
~Mike

Yeah I just got done re-installing my 3-port and no dice, same noise...
I thought maybe it was because of my tune kept the wastegate open, so I ran my old tune and tested carefully...
Again same noise,
I'll go check the intake line,
Cheers,
~Mike

Am I right in my thought process that the amount of pressure building up to make that much noise would have to be the intake side of the turbo not the exhaust?

I don't know if this will help at all, but when I put my intake in with my buddy the MAF adapter wire thing wasn't plugged in and heard the same sound of rushing air. When he plugged it in finally, and restarted it, it went away. It also wasn't the sound it sounds when you gun it with a perfectly running intake.
Won't hurt for you to unplug the wire, disconnect the battery, drain the power, reconnect the the wire, then the battery.
Just trying to help

Haha technically,
I went to get it fixed, we went through a nice series of "what about this" scenarios with my tech and came up with nothing...
All this time my clutch was getting ready to go, and when I finally got it replaced it was gone when the swap was done with...
It doesn't make any sense, but it's definitely not there anymore...
