Started to hear a noise..
I think what your friend at Mercedes was refering to is the Input shaft in the trans. Mainly the bearings. I have heard this claim before but have seen tranny rebuilds not fix the issue.
My car made this noise bone stock. It did quiet down with the ACT clutch kit but it's still there.

My car has had the rattling for months now. It recently got really bad one day after work, but has now turned turned into a rotational squeaking that comes and goes. most people i talk to think it is the throw out bearing but im not sure. My clutch seems to work perfectly for the exception of the noise. It still grabs and holds power very well. My clutch only has 15000 miles on it, barely a year old.

yes, i was thinking the main shaft bearings. but wouldn't i hear that while driving.
i guess i may be confused about when the tob is spinning before engaged. so if someone could explain the exact process of the tob's job i would appreciate it.
mitsu checked it out and said it was tob, and highly unlikely that it is something internal unless they were in the tranny n they could see. he made a suggestion that when sitting in traffic not to keep the clutch pedal pressed in because it caused the tob to spin when it is not needed, which i don't do. BUT, this noise is coming from something spinning when the clutch pedal is depressed, and when it is pressed in the noise goes away.
the mystery continues. i would not be able to find out unless i do a clutch kit change, which i do not need now.
