Depends on your power goals and boost you plan on running. If you want to run alot of boost then 80. If your going to run 25-26 then the 63 is fine.
They both are nice turbos. The 63 looks bone stock. The 80 has some performance advantages at higher boost. I found out today that the 80 eliminated the tab for the water line
You really can't go wrong with either. Just vote your preference

We are actually in a process of re-tuning a full bolt-on evo 9 with FP's new 80mm cover. So far so good and no surge up to 28psi on 93 octane. We will be finishing up the new tune tomorrow on our dyno dynamics dyno with fp's new 80mm cover and aported stock throttle body.
We did a new baseline today since it was 20 degrees cooler on the previous tune. So far so good with no surge.
Here is the old thread with the previous build:

Video and pictures will be posted in this section tomorrow afternoon!
cheers!

80mm, putting a big wheel in the same size compressor housing isn't a smart idea, look at most of Japanese aftermarket turbo, they don't utilize the stock housing they use a bigger one. FP finally did it on the red.

I have yet to see a side by side comparison but uve gotta figure the 80 mm will flow a little bit better, but if ur looking for the ulta stock look then go 63. Nd ive got the 80 mm red and hit full boost 24psi at 3800 so the word laggy wouldnt enter my head. If i were u id DEF go 80mm if u have e-85
I switched from the 63 to the 80 and I feel that it has improved spool. The turbo feels smoother all around. Before it felt like it would come on harder and jerkier at full boost bouncing off 30. Now it feels smooth and hits/holds 30.
If there is a dynotest that confirms that the 80mm housing produces more power than the standard housing.....I haven't seen it yet. The FP 80mm housing looks more like it was designed exclusively to control compressor surge. In fact, it may not flow as well as the smoother transitioned bellmouth of the smaller, standard housing.

What what the reason you went from the 63mm to the 80mm cover?
