$1700: What power mods, why, and where?

Title might sound a bit weird, but I'm at a crossroad. I've contenplated selling my evo, building my evo, etc. I recently sold another vehicle and am commited to the build of my long term goal of a DD budget streetable 400 ~ 420 BHP EVO 8 2004 GSR.
EDIT: Wow do I feel like a Newb. I always thought BHP meant Brake HP...lol. From what I read on a post in here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/en...9-whp-bhp.html, BHP is similiar to Crank HP.
Just to clarify, I am wanting 400-420 measured betwen the wheels and the road surface...lol
I do plan to AutoX this down the road. I know I will need to do suspension upgrades, and have another build thread and budget for that.

If your a vendor, and have a part for sale, point me your way. I have been scowering this forum for the last few days, reading everything I can about the upgrades, and what to go with. I have also been hitting the classifieds section as well. Open to all suggestions, thanks again in advance.

Currently I have what I consider a stage II:
3.5"- 4" Ebay Intercooler
Upgraded IC hosing kit
Turbo Manifold
02 Housing
3" DP
100 Cell Cat
3" Manderal/Custom piping, following stock routing from Cat to Muffler
Straight through Muffler with 3" Core.
Lightened pulley's, set of three, crank, a/c or power steering, an the alternator...lol
Lightened Fly
Stage II clutch
Cobb AP tune Stage II

The What:
What would be the next stage of upgrades, I have put together a little list here, give me your thoughts please.

272/272 Cams
1000 CC Injectors
4 Bar Sensor
255 Fuel Pump
Boost Guage
Boost Controller
Wide Band A/F Guage
Guage Pod
Supporting Tune(Open to ECUFlash, have tactrix cable, can sell the Cobb, they are just down the street and I factored $200 for there tune on dyno)
Edit: TB shaft seals kit. I know someone on here sales them. I deleted your pm guy by mistake, sorry about that.
Edit: FluiDampr Crank Pully. Reading up on the issues with lightened crank pulley setup I have going on currently.

Why:
Please give me what you can in why you would impliment your list of parts. I know that everyone is going to have there own suggestion, and am eager to listen. With that budget, considering if your car was where mine is at now, educate me? Just looking for some logical reasoning on selection of parts so to speak in stages, and why your parts selection would be the best piece for the puzzle.

Where:
Hyperlink a thread in your post, if you know a sweat deal on a part in your list, my list, or the vendor.

Thanks again everyone.

Ok lets start small. Is my list a good list? Is it the smart choice for the next stage?

What 3 guages would you recommend, Boost, A/F, and ????

Thanks again

haha oh ok. i would get the cams(springs valves and retainers,a/f gauge, boost gauge if you dont have one, the fuel pump and a retune with ecuflash. are you planning on going e85 or big turbo anytime soon? those 1000cc injectors wont do you any good if your not. but if you are then i would go ahead and get those installed and tuned as well./

no spring or valves are needed for at least 280/280 cams or if you are making over 550whp...for the money i would get the basics and if you have any on the list below just ignore it..
1)tbe
2)intake
3)255 fuel pump
4)272/272 cams
5) UICP and LICP
6)gauges
7) a nice dyno tune then you should have 375-400whp

get rid of that ebay crap and put back your OEM crank pulley because it is dampered for vibration of the engine internals..

I would love to, but when I purchased the car originally, it came with the intercooler. Intercooler just isn't branded, and looks like an Ebay one I have seen.
Looking for anohter one, but on a budget, so all in due time.

On the 272 cams, what manufacturer, would you recommend?

I thought valve springs were only necessary for higher revs, or HP numbers over 550...? I read that cam thread by Silver Surfer, with all the tuning on the 272's. If I didn't want to get cam gears, can I still time the cams with a -4 Intake/-1 Ehaust?
I also thought injectors could be scaled back... Get it to work for now, and have the fuel upgrade on tap for the Turbo upgrade, in about 6 months. Will I experience any issues running the liter injectors?

What other guages and typs of guages do you recommend.
Been looking at the AEM TruBoost with Boost Controler, AEM Wide Band, and the thrid...?

Looking at the triple guage pod assembly, and not sure what to make the third.
If AEM is not the way to go, can you recommend 3 guages, and supporting parts to get what I think I am getting with both of the AEM's?

If you plan on evuentually getting a bigger turbo I would shy away from the AEM boost controller. I had one and it started leaking under big boost. I would stick with a hallman manual.

One more note, havent decided on turbo application yet...
Concidering BBK lite/Full, FP White, FP Green. Really only want boost to be around 22 psi to 24 psi. I have a few turbo threads bouncing around, so lets not focus on those, but actually the injectors to run those, hence the 1000cc(liter) injectors. E85 is an option, only lack of fueling station close to me.

Is that 4bar sensor required, needed...? From what I read it is, 3 bar or 4 bar, for monitoring the Boost better... Is that the sensor to go with, or would some of you suggest something else?

everyone has their opinion about cams but BC cams are very reliable and make just as good power as the HKS and for the half of the price, so i would go with BC cams...had them on my previous dsm's and loved them. AEM boost controller/reader is a very good upgrade, a little on the expensive side but very accurate. I had it on my gt37r set up on my dsm and loved it, and trust me i have tried plenty of other boost controllers such as hks, greddy and blitz, so AEM would def be my choice..

I noticed that, you can find a set for under $400 on the Brian Cower Cams, if that is what your reffereing too... Either those or the Kelfords.

Tuning numbers on the timing of those still hold true? -4 intake, and -1 on exhaust...
And can I tune them like that without cam gears?

Thanks again.

Another thought... Timing chain and belt... 70k on the dial, don't think it has been changed. Is it a hard swap out. I could search. Just more interested to see if I need to do it now, or watch it down the road?
