I just replaced my K&N drop in today with a open element direct bolt onto MAS sensor type intake (agency short ram). I also dumped the plastic BOV with a Forge recirculated one.. When I am around 3k rpm I can start to hear some loud vacuuming noise. Kinda like the jet engine kinda sound..I just want to make sure it's not the bov hoses leaking lol but just the intake. I might actually record a video and post it.

 

haha yeah thats your turbo beginning to spool! completely normal ou wouldnt be able to hear a leak like that from inside the car... that noise is the noise some people only dream to have haha enjoy it

 

Please do, is this on an 8 or 9? I have the forge recirc, every now and again, i get what I am assuming is a similiar noise with out hearing it first. I also get a shutter, if I accelerate and then quickly lift throttle to stop accelerating and maintain the current speed, I can feel the BOV open and close.

I asked around here earlier in another post about the grease or friction fluid inside these BOV. Like if you need to add some, or replace it. It looks like standard grease...lol.

Thought that might be causing the shutter.

Yeah mine does that too,like when it's around 4k rpm I kinda lift the throttle a little bit then I start to hear a small shutter.
