Question The all new clutch poll!!!

I feel that the other clutch polls were tainted, thats why I would like to conduct my own. In the other polls people with less than 5k were choosing the no prob option and then later having probs. I don't care what is discussed in this thread, you can complain, or rag on people whatever. I just want some acurate results. Please do not participate if you do not fall in one of the options. THIS IS FOR THE EVO only.

thanks

It still works, but at 5k the clutch clamps right at the end of the pedal. I did not notice this before. I never slip it or dump it to race and yes I have several hundred thousand miles of experience with no clutch problems on perhaps two dozen vehicles from 10 ton three axel dumps to 90cc dirt bikes.

Since about 8000 miles or so, i have really been able to get my launch awsome, had some problems with slipping at first but now no slip and great launch. Usually low 1.8 60fts and some 1.7's, dont know but im happy.

come on I know there are more than that. Anyway Whare is the best place to get the ss clutch line, I went to rx7.com and could not find it. I know I have seen someone around here selling them.

I have a bit over 12 thousand miles...many hard launches and track events. No clutch problems here. I believe its the drivers or maybe a small handfull of cars that come with this problem.

Hi,

My friend told me if you launch hard and fried the clutch, just drive it for awhile eventhough it slips. Most likely the clutch got glaced but with some driving the glaced surface will wear off and the clutch will be back to normal. Price you pay for hard launches but only way to get the stock evo to 5sec. 60mph. C&D claims street start (5-60mph) for evo 6.7sec. and the sti 5.9sec. and s2k 7sec.

Don't know about anybody else, but I I've never, nor have I the desire to dump my clutch at launch. It very much concerns me that the clutch is not lasting 5K miles for some of you. I can't imagine ANY clutch being worn out that quickly...this car is my baby; I paid alot for her, and I intend on taking care of her. My $.02...

I didn't want those options on my poll. Those people could have their clutch go out right after they post no probs at 5k

If you can I would like you to change it back, Now my results are tainted. The results are now going to have the same effect as the last one. People who check no prob come back a couple k later and say oh now I have probs, but they already chose no probs.

Polls don't exactly depict an honest image of stats anyhow, so don't worry about it.
