i launch the **** out of mine and pretty much extended the break in period to like 1400 miles babying it. No clutch problems yet, smoked it a few times, grinded a few times, and it's all good. 3k miles on mine though, so my opinion probably doesn't matter much

I feather my clutch when I launch from about 5000 and I haven't had problems yet. Im lucky I guess, but i'll be replacing the clutch line and probably the clutch soon just in case.

Does everyone's clutch grab near 90% to the top of the travel?
I believe mine is like that since day one. My clutch is stock.

JT-KGY, seems to be the case. Mine is the same way. I'm used to it from my previous car (330i).

How did yoy get Mitsu to pay? They denied mine ay 8500 for wear...

Mitsubishi told me that they were denying all clutch waer claims? Do you have pics of the disk? I am going to small cliams court and can use all the support I can get.

And the Poll: This poll is perfect. It is clearing up a lot of the problems with the last one.

For those of you who haven't lost a clutch yet... When your's goes, you might as well go to a performance shop. Dealers are offering tear it apart to find if it is covered under warrantee to ge tthe business... And some dealers have charged more htan $3000 for the job!

Happy Driving.

Mine went out at about 10k. I thought it was an isolated incident. I bought my car in March and had 9k on the car before a lot of people even had thier's. I was very surprised at how low everyone's was going out. I could always smell the clutch burning even under easy driving conditions. I removed the restrictor and very rarely now do I smell it or feel slip in the clutch.

It doesn't look like Mitsu is honoring the warranty much on the Evo anyway so why bother worrying about that.

I have a January build also but am only at 3000 miles, still feels good but I don't lauch it because the ACT is not out and I am not ready to put a clutch in right now. It actually feels good still but I also have the ss line and the restrictor removed.

And by the way, there was nothing wrong with the original poll, just the biased pollsters.
One good thing that came out of that poll was the ACT input and discussion.
