My new clutch that mitsu did smells funny all the time. It smells like its burning and I will be just driving normally. I only have about 500 miles on my new one. Is there a long breakin period on this new one. I find myself driving like a wuss because I am babying my clutch, oh well

My factory clutch blew at 2300 miles at the track. Now my six puck has chunks missing. So gonna try the Exedy Hyper single disc and hopefully that'll work.

Mine died at 3,600 miles. Mitsu only paid for repair not part. Put in an Exedy clutch. Left dealer made it 5 miles and had to have the car towed back, they forgot to tighten a hose to the turbo and a cross brace, I also complained about a grinding noise coming form the trany, Mitsu said it was the clutch. The car is now at the Mitsu dealer and they can't figure out what's wrong.
The grinding noise is only heard when the car is in gear and coasting down hill or slowing, as soon as the gas peddle is touch (just a little) the sound goes away. Real Pissing me off. Had the car 6 weeks Mitsu as had it for 2 weeks. Need to know how to get them to pay 1/3 of my car payment?

The dealer paid for the time? WOW I wasn't as lucky as you.

No idea how to get them to pay the payment... Good luck!

Check your state's lemon laws. In NY, if the car is in for service for a total of 30 or more days during the first 2 years of ownership, it's a lemon.

Here's the AZ law:

56 clutch's RIP, that is alot anyway you cut it. at what point should mitsu be concerned. 100 200 500. who knows.

I still feel like a recal for a better setup is in order, but I doubt it will ever happen

The other poll shows about 170 evos on this site

"what color do you drive" poll

if you do any math its scary

Mine went out at 8k miles. I am NOT a racer. I'm not a car freak that knows alot about this and that. I have however driven manuals forever. never had a clutch problem in my life. Dealer will not cover the repairs or parts. They said I did it. BULL****. BTW Seth....I bought mine at Lipscum also. They told me they have'nt heard ANYTHING about your clutch going out. Are they lieing to me?

We have'nt met. I own a the black evo. They told me they have not heard a thing... I got your name from the pole you started earlier. Offar Katz was our dealer. said he knows you and that he has'nt heard anything about you clutch going out. Odd dont ya think? I have met the guy here in town with the blue one. I'd really like to talk to you in person/phone about this if you dont mind. I'm still waiting for it to be fixed and I'd like some ammo touse against them. They are trying to screw us all here man. If you could call me at 417-207-0885 I'd really appriciate it. I am very upset about this whole deal I love that damn car but im not going to tolerate being screwed over. oh and btw did they at first tell you it was abuse? and did your flywheel have burn marks on it? did you keep the damaged parts? I requested them after repairs. hope to hear from ya soon.
