Wastegate Arm and diaphram for EVO 8's turbo???

May be someone can help me.

On the turbo where the wastgates arm extends to the wastgates flapper is it adjustable??

One of my Friends has had boost issues with his EVO and it seams like the door on the wastgate does not want to close all the way. So the car slowly builds boost until red line were the boost is were it should be. I know it’s not closing all the way because I have seen these problems with WRXs and devoiced twin dump down pipes with tong dividers.
The wastgate’s door would not close all the way because it would get caught onto the divider wall.

We switch solenoids and that was not the problem also no leaks in the system. He had a dealer try to fix the problem and you can tell that they were working on the wastgate because the back of the radiator was damaged and the Heat shields were all scratched up.

No it's not adjustable. Try taking the cotter pin out and pull the actuator rod off. See if the wastegate flapper has smooth, full movement. See if maybe the diaphragm needs to be shimmed or something (it shouldn't though). That actuator rod will also be a ***** to get back on.

What is he using for boost control?

Car is completely stock. He is using the FBC system witch is working fine.. May be I can shimmy the bolts that hold the Diaphram to the turbo
