Can someone please tell me where the knock sensor is located on a 2003 EVO VIII?
Can it be removed without removing the intake manifold?

its on the back of the block, under the intake mani. i think you can get it from below by just removing the intake mani bracket. my motor is out, i can take a picture for you if youd like

 

Yup, under the intake manifold.

It is do-able with the intake manifold on the car.

 

here you go, keep in mind youll have a few more things in you way

Looks like a PITA to get to. What is the easiest way to get to this thing? Can anyone confirm that you can remove/replace the knock sensor from below by removing the intake manifold bracket? Can you use a torque wrench on the knock sensor by just removing the intake manifold bracket? The shop manual says to remove the intake manifold and even the crossmember bar.
