does ANYONE have a knock sensor socket?

like the title states, does anyone have one? p/n MD998773 or at aleast a 27mm with a slit down the side that i can borrow or have for cheap? im in the eastern NC area, i have to change my knock sensor soon, and cant find one, anyone get at it with a wrench? it seems too tight in there to get a wrench on it, the bracket is removed, it just seems like the water pipe and block are just tooo much in the way to get a wrench in there, let alone a 27mm wrench. thanks

Worst case scenario, go to harbor freight and buy a cheap 27mm socket and cut a slit down the side

I just used an adjustable medium sized crescent wrench. Its not on that tight so not a real issue with rounding off the edges going on or off.

I bought a 27mm deep socket and cut a slit down the side of the socket with my dremel and a cutoff wheel. The job still sucks with it haha

i work on av8b harriers, i know its not too bad, but not the most enjoyable thing in the world lol, i mean at least i dont have to safety wire anything one handed, and if i drop a tool down the engine bay, i dont have to worry about possibly pulling the engine out to get it if i cant find it lol i have a larger beef with British makers (Rolls Royce) than i do Japanese, or let alone German. lol

its bolted in the back of the block underneath the intake manifold, buried underneath between runners 2 and 3 of the intake manifold. With the intake manifold support bracket off you should be able to get your arm under there and grab it.

IMO, its not that difficult to take the intake manifold off, and then you get a nice clear shot of the sensor.

Agree with the Crescent wrench Idea. I have removed both my knock and oil pressure sensors with a short, but wide-jawed Channelock brand adjustable wrench. Was quite easy.
