boost controller

I'm getting a tune this week for my evo 9 and I was wondering, do I need to get a boost controller or it fine if I just let my tuner increase the boost?
If I need a boost controller, is the Hallman pro RX better than the Hallman pro?
Thanks

Don't know much about the Hallman, but the fast cars have this simple and cheap mod. Nothing more is needed. Check out buschur site. Its under $100 maybe 50, but you need nothing else. Good luck.

The Hallmans work perfectly fine and is an efficient and cost effective mod. They run fairly cheap around 50 bucks too

I didn't have expierence with the Hallman BC, but if its a manual one, easier to hook up, and works just fine, and is better IMO then a flashy electrical one. So you won't go wrong if you get any MBC. (I thought Hallman was an electric BC-my bad)

you will need one to turn the boost up, hallman is most widely used around here and the normal one is fine.

Joe P. MBC. Cheap and effective; can't beat that combo.

I called the tuner and he said that he will be out for a month. Is it fine if I increase the boost to 21 psi with out a tune?

If your stock, that's fine. If you added parts, better stay out of the boost till you are tuned! We have NO IDEA what mods you have. Do tell us, if you want our help with that last question.

Oh sorry for not mentioning my mods.. I have a TBE and a drop in filter for now. I just ordered a lower intercooler pipe and a 3" front mount intercooler.

Just do it right. Don't raise the boost until you get tuned.

And NO - it's NOT alright to raise the boost to 21 psi without a tune.
